Prepare the customer experience before going live
Once customers start receiving invoices or portal access, they should be able to find what they need without confusion. Billing and self-service areas should feel ready before the launch.
Launch checklist
- Review invoice and estimate templates, taxes, numbering, and payment methods.
- Test a customer login and confirm portal permissions are correct.
- Check that files, tickets, projects, and billing records display as expected in the portal.
- Publish a basic knowledge base with setup, usage, and support guidance.
- Send one end-to-end customer test from invitation through payment or ticket submission.
What customers should be able to do
- Log in successfully.
- See the right records and not unrelated ones.
- Understand how to pay, ask for help, or review updates.
- Find self-service answers before opening a support request.
Best practice
Use the first launch version to make the customer journey clear, not overloaded. Customers value clarity more than having every possible feature exposed on day one.
